Random thoughts of the night. Although this poem came about because of a conversation with a friend, I must say, I ended up talking to myself a lot within the writing.
Scared to move forward

Guess it's been all along
Games to give up
Capture these precious moments
Slipping recklessly
As wanton music
Tune out the latest band
Listen to the beat of His magnificence
We only have these years once
Now is the moment
The time to decide
Choice to calm the heart
A haunted soul
Be soothed in prayer
Music is God-given
But is temporal stuff
Happiness is fleeting
But joy ever-lasts
Rest heart, mind and soul
In the joy of the Lord
Enjoy that quest for joy
Notifications to the mind
A reminder that He is Almighty
