Simply Remember
by Camille Burg
Festive music playing softly in sync
With everyone's spirits, the twinkle lights wink
I think we can all agree
There's nothing more decorative than the tree
The ornaments hung with care
These trinkets of glassware
Cranberries strung like rubies upon a necklace
The cloudy popcorns in contrast look graceless
Stepping back to admire
Enjoying the heat on our backs from the fire
Do look out that window
See the fiery holiday lights, all aglow
Tomorrow, the bride with the basketful of white
Is coming to bestow her dazzling sight
We shall have a white Christmas Eve
Every inch of ground the frosty shavings will cleave
A girl with dark hair, happily reminisces
Over a day of shopping will all the expected stresses
A simple "Merry Christmas" will fetch a smile
Even from shoppers with a mood most vile
In this expression of joy and cheer
We find the reason the season is one to revere
And so I leave you, with a bit of advice
The reason is beautiful and ever so concise
The birth of a savior, a perfect and holy sacrifice
